Set to arrive in the United States next year, the models have a plug-in hybrid powertrain that consists of a twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 engine that produces 541 hp (403 kW / 548 PS). It’s backed up by an electric motor that develops an additional 134 hp (100 kW / 136 PS). This enables the models to have a combined output of 670 hp (550 kW / 679 PS) and 663 lb-ft (900 Nm) of torque.
The electric motor is powered by a 14.1 kWh lithium ion battery and is sandwiched between the V8 engine and an eight-speed automatic transmission. This setup enables the two motors to work together or independently. When the electric motor is doing all the work, the Cayenne Turbo S E-Hybrid can travel up to 24.8 miles (40 km) on electricity alone.
In terms of performance, the crossovers can accelerate from 0-60 mph (0-100 km/h) in 3.6 seconds before hitting a limited top speed of 183 mph (295 km/h).
A Porsche insider tells us that the model is still a test vehicle , in which the Zuffenhausener want to determine how far you can go at the P anamera . And obviously you can go far, because the model has 820 hp. This puts the Über-Panamera 150 hp above the currently strongest model in the series. The Turbo S E-Hybrid realizes "only" 670 hp.
The rest is speculation:
The facelift of the Porsche Panamera is scheduled for 2020, such a model would be conceivable in this time frame perhaps as a "last edition" or as a top model after the facelift.
820 PS, that's an announcement, but what? Does it still need such a showcase for cast iron today? Considering an innovative Porsche Taycan, a pure over-Panamera looks like a relic. Let's hope that under the camouflage is the 928.
Porsche is gearing up to introduce the 2020 Taycan next week, but that’s not the only electric vehicle in the company’s stable.
Unveiled earlier today, the 99X Electric marks Porsche’s entry into the exciting world of Formula E.
The powertrain produces up to 335 hp (250 kW / 340 PS), but is limited to 268 hp (200 kW / 272 PS) in Race Mode and 316 hp (235 kW / 320 PS) in Attack Mode. Without any restrictions, the car can accelerate from 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) in 2.8 seconds and hit a top speed of 174 mph (280 km/h).
Porsche already had a 10 percent stake in Rimac Automobili since June 2018, and has just acquired another 5.5 percent in a bid to strengthen their partnership.
