According to the latest – unofficial – information this gorgeous and only just finished terrain in Arese is to be the location where the new Alfa Romeo showroom shall be installed. These grounds used to house an Alfa factory hall and now also include an exact replica (1,6km or 1 mile in length) of the former test circuit for newly produced vehicles. We already wrote an article on this project earlier this year, but we’re very pleased to announce everything is on schedule for the day we’re all waiting for; the 24[SUP]th[/SUP] of June. There are no pictures going around of the renovated Alfa museum to the east yet. Perhaps this terrain is, just like the ‘skunkworks’ where the new ‘Giulia’ is being developed, an absolute no-go area.

The building we see here along with the test track will become the ‘Mondo Auto Active’; some sort of ‘motor village’ for people who not only wish to look at new Alfas, but also follow driving courses. It seems logical to us that Alfa Romeo will be the most important brand for all future events on these grounds.

The presentation on June 24[SUP]th[/SUP] is said to take place at the Museo Storico in front of the eyes of a select group of press and stakeholders. Three prototypes of the new Alfa sedan should be on show, one of which being the hot GTA/QV (with carbon fiber elements), but none of them shall be drivable yet. The first pilot production is only scheduled for later this summer apparently, meaning we now only expect to see the first mules in their final bodywork during the summer vacation or shortly after.

The exterior of the ‘Giulia’ is claimed (via the son of a neighbor’s nephew and so on) to be quite taut with pointy headlights and a typical Alfa backside. The latter makes us think of the ones of the Brera or 156, but of course now with LED-technology and perhaps a tad larger. The boot lid would be given a so-called ‘boot lip’ just like the 4C, while the grille should include less chrome than in recent models (159, Giulietta, MiTo). But these are all wild rumors and no more than that. Absolute secrecy is something new in Italy since ‘Progetto 952’.
