Lancia only temporarily in diminished role | AutoEdizione.com

Lancia-toekomst.jpg

A recent article by a Turin newspaper stated the remarkable fact that the management of FCA would have openly declared that Lancia will not remain in its diminished role for very long. Why not make it public then, you ask? Well, it is said that Marchionne is not exactly craving for yet more rumors to answer to. What, where, how and when-questions are devoted to Alfa Romeo right now and that’s more than enough.

The local newspaper that is part of a major domestic news source claims the management made this statement during a meeting in the Piedmont capital with shareholders and trade union delegates. Lancia needs the Italian market as its starting point as it has much growing potential there. But that’s the problem right now with that market being struck heavily by the crisis and still waiting on some decent recovery. It is often said that Fiat’s major shareholder – the Agnelli-family – feels very strongly about the survival of Lancia.
