Lancia - Allo studio una Ypsilon HF da 160 CV - Quattroruote

Una Lancia Ypsilon HF. Una carrozzeria in vernice opaca, ravvivata da una linea gialla che riprende il colore acceso delle pinze dei freni e, sulla griglia, un più che eloquente marchietto. Non è una fantasia di qualche appassionato nostalgico dei tempi gloriosi del marchio italiano.

Il progetto esiste, ed è molto concreto. Una versione della piccola di casa con lo storico logo che legò la sua fortuna ai successi nei rally potrebbe davvero arrivare. Anche se, dalle informazioni che siamo riusciti a raccogliere, non avrebbe ancora il disco verde definitivo.Ambizione non sopita. L'idea non è del tutto nuova. Risale a qualche anno fa, quando a Torino carezzavano la prospettiva di una versione HF della Flavia:Quattroruote fu la prima a parlarne e ne fece anche una ricostruzione al computer. Alla fine il progetto fu accantonato perché la Flavia, per le sue dimensioni, poco si prestava a un'interpretazione marcatamente sportiva. Ma l'ambizione di un modello HF non era morta. E oggi ha trovato sulla popolare Ypsilon la sua possibile applicazione.

Oltre 150 cavalli. A supportare le ambizioni della sportivina Lancia ci sarebbe il "millequattro" turbo a benzina con una potenza che si stima tra i 150 e i 160 cavalli. L'assetto sarebbe ribassato, le sospensioni adeguatamente ritarate, i freni potenziati a firma Brembo. Il progetto però, a quanto siamo riusciti a sapere divide. In Fiat non tutti sarebbero convinti.

Dite la vostra. Da quel che sappiamo, a Torino esisterebbero due anime, o due partiti. Come al solito, bisogna far quadrare i conti. Ci deve essere una convenienza economica. Che non si misura soltanto in volumi di vendita diretti, ma anche in ritorno di immagine. In attesa che in Fiat dipanino la matassa e prendano una decisione, a noi piacerebbe sapere qual è la vostra opinione.

Lancia working on extra hot Ypsilon HF | AutoEdizione.com

According to the reputable Italian source Quattroruote these computer images of an extra hot Lancia Ypsilon with legendary HF-badge come from Centro Stile, and are therefore official. Given the fact that this source has been closely connected to the Italian manufacturer for decades already, we’ll assume that this is indeed the case. Finally some good news for the true Lancists, then, who can now again start dreaming about more sporty models. It seems like the people at Lancia want to put a stop to all the rumors about the brand’s (lack of) future perspective. This Italian source does say that no green light has been given yet for this project, so perhaps they’re first awaiting the response of the public.
Our presumption that Lancia wants to go back to its sporty roots seems to be true after all. We already saw (and drove) the Delta S by MOMODESIGN and the by-Lancia-sponsored rally-events, and now we get this. This hot Ypsilon is very stylish with its two shades of matte and the famous yellow line which we still remember from a few versions of the fabulous Delta Integrale.

But Lancia has teased us before with images of sporty versions of their cars, so we’re careful about our assumptions. Allow us to say, even, that it would be a rather rude gesture by the manufacturer if this would once again turn out to be nothing. Remember the gorgeous Flavia coupé and a spicy previous generation Ypsilon Zagato? Those didn’t get any further than the conceptual phase neither. Just like the latter around ten years ago, Quattroruote claims that this ‘Ypsilon HF’ will also be fitted with a turbo engine. Our first guess would be the 1.4 MultiAir producing 160 hp and a chassis much like the one we find in the Abarth 500. We’ll certainly keep our fingers crossed, as we think this extra hot Ypsilon looks absolutely stunning. What do you think?
