2 milhões de €uros por um Sesto Elemento

2 milhões de €uros por um Sesto Elemento

Lamborghini has given its clearest indication yet that its Paris show-stealing Sesto Elemento concept car will make it into low-volume production — but with a higher-than-anticipated price tag of around 2 million euro (£1.77m).

Although Lamborghini boss Stephan Winkelmann refuses officially to place the car’s chances of making production at more than 50/50, company insiders say the Sesto Elemento is actually in the advanced stages of its development.

What Winkelmann did confirm is that the Sesto Elemento will have a 0-62mph time of no more than 2.5sec, less time than it takes for the 1183bhp Bugatti Veyron Super Sport to get to 60mph.

In part this will come courtesy of its Gallardo-derived 5.2-litre V10 engine, but in the main it will be down to the car’s exceptionally light weight. Despite widespread belief that no production model could match the 995kg weight of the concept, Winkelmann is adamant that the Sesto Elemento “will weigh less than a tonne”.

To keep to this self-imposed and ultra-ambitious weight limit, and as previously reported in Autocar, the Sesto Elemento will have to stay within the confines of the race track. Its extreme nature, stripped-out cabin and highly experimental forged carbonfibre construction mean that homologation issues preclude the possibility of a road-going version.

The only thing likely to be more breathtaking than the way the Sesto Elemento gets around a race track is the amount of money Lamborghini will ask its customers to part with in exchange for one.

Winkelmann reiterated earlier statements that no more than 20 will be built — but revealed that instead of a price tag of around a 1m euro (£889,000), each Elemento will be sold for around 2m euro.

That may seem expensive for a track-day car, until you consider that Lamborghini sold all 35 Reventons, which were essentially rebodied Murciélagos, within a week of the car being announced at a price of 1m euro plus local taxes.

Few would bet against Lamborghini being able to find 20 people on the planet prepared to pay twice as much for the most technologically advanced, fastest, maddest-looking model in its 48-year history.

"The Lamborghini Indomable was born from the minds of Daniel Chinchilla Ochoa and Alberto Fernandez Albilares. A concept, it was created as part of a design program sponsored by Lamborghini. Now, however, this conceptual vision is going to become a reality – only it won't be built in Sant'Agata Bolognese.

A company called 215 Racing has acquired the rights to the Indomable design, and it plans to turn out a production version of the design team's rendering. Based in Abington, PA, 215 Racing will produce the car, which will be called the SF22, through its sub-company Mostro Di-Potenza. That name means "Monster Power" in Italian, and the moniker doesn't lie.

According to the company, power for the SF22 will be provided a mid-mounted twin-turbocharged 9.4-liter(!) V8 engine. The mill is a General Motors 572, which will be paired with a six-speed sequential gearbox. 215 Racing expects this beast to produce 2,000-horsepower and 2,000 pound-feet of torque. Just a quick recap for you, this isn't a train we're talking about but a road-going two-door that is propelled via its rear wheels.

Of course, any company can claim such dramatic power numbers. So, we can only wait to see just how capable the finished Mostro Di-Potenza SF22 turns out – if indeed salable examples are produced at all. The company plans to build 50 examples total, at a rate of two per month over the course of two years, and says it's now taking orders for mid-2012 deliveries. The initial deposit will only cost you $1,000, but the fully built vehicle will run you close to $950,000." by Autoblog

Conclusão:

Each generation of Countach drives just a little bit better than the last. So does it follow that the youngest is the most desirable? Not a bit.

The stunning beauty of the original LP400 makes it an almost irresistible proposition, and the lower limits of those XWX tires add a naughty charm that's lost from the later cars. Valentino puts the LP400 into great context: "This car turns a page in sports car history. It was everyone's dream to have one. I wouldn't want to change anything on this model."

And that brings us to the S and QV. Of these cars, it's the four-valve that offers the most of everything — performance, road-holding, even its soundtrack. With the QV you can still run rings around all but the most powerful modern hypercars.

Valentino loves the QV and has no reservations about declaring it the best of all. "It's still clean and pure Countach. I think it's the best compromise. In terms of power and drivability, for me it's the best. This is the one which has the most charisma, I would say. Pure Countach: the right engine in the right car."

But is the best car necessarily the one Valentino would take home? "Keys on the table, I would definitely, without a doubt, take home the LP400, because of its history, because here was a world-changing machine. This is the model that made Ferruccio Lamborghini a star. I love these cars, I love the company — this is the symbol, something special."

O "bermelho" é o Countach do sr.
