Aston Martin confirma produção de crossover de luxo

Presidente da Aston Martin confirmou que o nome Lagonda vai mesmo regressar com a produção de um crossover de luxo

Avança, recua, avança, recua… É esta a história do projecto Lagonda, com o qual a Aston Martin pretende renascer a histórica e carismática marca Lagonda. Mas parece que o projecto tem mesmo «pernas para andar», segundo avançou Ulrich Bez, presidente executivo da Aston Martin.

Num evento realizado em Amesterdão, Ulrich Bez garantiu que o estudo apresentado no Salão Automóvel de Genebra, em 2009, vai mesmo avançar, concretizando o regresso da marca Lagonda com a produção e comercialização de um crossover destinado aos mercados receptivos a modelos de luxo.

Bez adiantou ainda que o Lagonda contará com tracção integral e que será desenvolvido em parceria com outra empresa - o protótipo estava assente na plataforma do Mercedes Classe GL, não sendo de descurar uma parceria entre os dois construtores com vista à partilha de custos com novos modelos de nicho, com um novo crossover de luxo.

Para mim, neste momento o Aston Martin mais bonito é mesmo o DBS.

LONDON — It might cost $1.87 million plus tax, but Aston Martin says it has already sold 60 of the 77 One-77 limited-edition supercars it plans to build. The 750-horsepower V12 Aston coupe is by far the most expensive model in the British company's price list.

Although it's based on the principles of the VH (vertical, horizontal) platform that underpins the rest of the range, the One-77 shares little with it in actual hardware terms. The bodywork is largely carbon fiber. It is made by Canadian company Multimatic, which molds the carbon monocoque in Ontario and assembles it in the U.K. It features large numbers of aluminum components milled from solid billets, as well as hand-formed aluminum exterior panels, and is hand-built in a new purpose-built assembly workshop.

Having committed nearly $2 million to a One-77, most owners are having no trouble checking off the box for a Toyota IQ-based Aston Martin Cygnet city car, usually in matching colors, to go with it. According to Aston, most One-77 owners have already said yes or have shown serious interest in buying the car, which will presumably be ideal for hanging off the rear of a yacht, ready for forays to harbour-side boutiques.

Aston Martin may build Maybachs for Daimler

Aston Martin is in talks with Daimler AG over a potential partnership that would see the British luxury carmaker design and build a new Maybach ultraluxury sedan for the German automaker, press reports said.

Aston Martin may take engine technology from Daimler in exchange for building Daimler's Maybach cars, the Financial Times said on Wednesday, citing people close to the situation.

German automotive magazine Auto Zeitung said Daimler has already commissioned a mock-up of a new Maybach limousine that would use know-how and parts from Aston Martin. The new Maybach could debut at the 2011 Frankfurt auto show, the magazine said.

The Financial Times said a partnership with Aston Martin could give the ailing Maybach brand a new lease of life and would be much cheaper for Daimler than an in-house solution.

Aston Martin could gain access to Daimler's four-wheel-drive technology for an off-road vehicle it is considering building based on the Mercedes-Benz GL. The British brand could also benefit from Daimler's fuel-efficient diesel and gasoline engines.

Daimler on Thursday said it is evaluating options for the development of Maybach-branded products and there was no pressure to reach a decision.

"There is no cooperation deal with Aston Martin. We are often in talks about various topics, such as the donating technology for the Lagonda show car," a Daimler spokesman told Reuters.

Daimler gave the underpinnings of a Mercedes GL to help Aston Martin build a Lagonda concept car displayed at the Geneva auto show in 2009.

Aston Martin was not available for comment.

Daimler's low volume Maybach has struggled to lift sales while Aston Martin has been on the lookout for cooperation deals since it was sold by Ford Motor Co. in 2007.

Daimler has inked a deal with battery maker BYD to build electric cars and recently said it could not have financed the third generation of its small car brand Smart without a partnership with Renault.

Este é um dos meus Aston preferidos, ainda há pouco tempo vi um outro LM à venda, muito raros de se econtrar.
E este ainda não o tinha na minha lista de LM, estou a tentar encontrar fotos e informações de todos lol

Tenho fotos e detalhes de 24 e mais uns 5 não identificados (ou seja tenho fotos mas não sei a que numero de chassis/motor pertencem).

Era um bocado de noite... não me impressionou assim tanto como estava à espera.... Já o barulho uii [kiss]
