Alfa 4c

The Alfa Romeo 4C Acclaims Five Awards In Recent Weeks

Ever since the first Alfa Romeo 4C made its European debut, it has received several awards, includingAuto Bild’s Design Award of 2011. As of now, the 4C has arrived in dealerships in the U.S as well and, in just a few weeks, the lightweight supercar has been awarded five significant titles, of which three were in the U.S and the rest in Ireland.

Starting off, the 4C has been named the ‘Best Performance and Luxury Car to Buy’ by Motor Authority, and according to their editor Nelson Ireson, the “Alfa Romeo 4C is beautiful, exotic and incredibly fun to drive” and continues that “it’s also tremendous value, offering a carbon fibre moncoque chassis and turbocharged mid-engine layout around the price of much more ordinary sports car”. In this case, he’s referring to the Ford Mustang, which the 4C beat out for the award this year.

Moving on, the 4C has also picked up the ‘Sports Car’ award in the ‘Popular Mechanics 2014 Car Awards’ and the 2015 AUTOMOBILE ‘All-Star’ award, which means it’s the car that the magazine’s readers want to drive the most. Mike Floyd, editor-in-chief at AUTOMOBILE, says that “the Alfa Romeo 4C reminds you what it means to drive with joy, with purpose” and continues, that’s why it won the ‘All-Star’ price.

In Ireland, the Italian 4C has been named ‘Performance Car of the Year’ by the APMP (Association of Professional Motoring Press), of which APMP Chairperson Michael Sherdian describes the 4C as “outrageous fun to drive” and that “Alfa Romeo has a true star with it’s pocket-rocket, the 4C”. It’s also been named the ‘Continental Irish Sports/Performance Car of the Year’ by the IMWA (Irish Motoring Writers’ Association), of which Austin Sinnors, Chairperson at IMWA, commented that “the Alfa Romeo 4C is a very worthy winner of the price and is an exciting car aesthetically and dynamically – it is a real thoroughbred Italian sports car in every way”.

As a refresher, the Italian lightweight sportscar Alfa Romeo 4C was revealed at the Geneva Motor Show in 2013, and is powered by a 1.75-litre straight-4 engine with 237 horsepower. It’s able to do a 0-60 mph sprint in just 4.5 seconds before it tops out at 160 mph. That’s the result of its Italian engineering and carbon-fibre monocoque, which results in a total weight of just 895 kg.

Thanks for all the kind words of support! I'm happy to report that the 4C is a fun, nimble and fast car. It feels more like an Elise than an Evora. Mid range torque is good. Handling is fun though the ride is stiff on the SoCal freeways. I will admit that I was glad I did not have to manage a clutch through the heavy LA traffic!

Outro dono:

Hello fellow Alfisti.....just picked up my new 4C this afternoon at Landers Fiat Alfa in Shreveport LOuisiana and I am more excited than words can describe! Rosso Competizione is the finest color I have ever seen, my two teenage boys and I have been foaming at the mouth for months waiting and finally it's our glory day! We love the car and I must say that dealing with David Blumson sales manger at Landers was a breath of fresh air! He is a man of his word, and it has been the best new car buying experience I have ever had. I hope all of you get your dream cars soon as I have today and I also hope that all get treated as well as I have at Landers today! Give em a shot at your business and you'll never regret it! If y'all have any specific questions fire away but I only check this about once a day now that I'm out playing in my new car!

Outro que gastou quase 100.000$USD num Alfa:

I went into my dealer today, Santa Monica Fiat and Alfa Romeo, to see if they had sold their first car or not. They had not. My salesman opened the door and told me I could sit in it. I've sat in three already, but OK.

Then he gave me the key. I'm no dummy, he wants me to start it, so I did.

Well, I must have blacked out or something. The next thing I knew it was my car. It was a long black out. I went to my bank and came back with a cashiers note for the full purchase price.

My wife was kind of pissed that I spent $98,500 (including taxes). After a few hours she calmed down enough to go for a ride. By the time we got home she was ecstatic.

Took my brother for a ride to our father's house. Dad was so excited I thought he was going to pee his pants. Took Dad for a ride. Let my brother drive it back home (my home).

015 is Alfa Rosso and had 10 miles on it when I sat down and fired her up. There is an aluminum license holder provided for the front plate. Mine is in the trunk. No holes defile the the front fascia. She had been fully prepped including a full tank of gas.

The steering is easy, even at full rest. At normal speeds I was able to have a comfortable conversation with all my passengers. The tires pick up on the rain grooves more than I'm used to, but not as bad as my motorcycles have. I can feel certain types of road surfaces, more than most cars, but nothing severe.

Have not turned on the radio. Defrost works well. Headlamps light the road nicely. Seats feel comfortable, the wife gave her approval.

Still in dynamic mode, manual only. Paddles work well. Computer takes care of the rev-matching for very smooth shifts. The few times I ran her out, she up-shifted early on her own, at about 5,000 or 5,500. Red line is 6,500. Doing about 30 MPH on the Blvd and it would not let me shift into 6. Go slow enough and she down shifts on her own. This is Dynamic Manual mode.

Tomorrow my wife wants me to drive her out to one of her quilting stores. I think it about 50 miles each way. I know a few nice canyon roads on the way.
