Dodge has announced the 2015 Challenger SRT Hellcat will become the "most powerful muscle car" ever created when it goes on sale later this year.While the company has previously said the car's supercharged 6.2-liter V8 engine would produce more than 600 bhp (447 kW), the final number is a staggering 707 bhp (527 kW) and 650 lb-ft (880 Nm) of torque.

To put these numbers in perspective, the Challenger SRT Hellcat trumps everything from the Lamborghini Aventador to Dodge's own Viper SRT.

Chrysler declined to release full specifications but they said the 707 bhp (527 kW) will only be available to drivers who use a special red key fob. The model will also come with a black key fob that limits the output to 500 bhp (372 kW).

Alguém sabe como é que funciona isso da chave vermelha (707cv) e da chave negra (500cv)? Será que um tipo tem de ir lá fazer um teste dinâmico? Será só para pilotos? Ou será um extra pago?

The upcoming SRT Challenger powered by Chrysler’s new 6.2-liter supercharged Hellcat V8 won’t be the most expensive muscle car on the market despite being the most powerful.

According to a leaked presentation slide, the car will start at $59,900, which makes it more expensive than the now out-of-production Shelby GT500 and the Camaro ZL1, but less expensive than the track-focused Camaro Z/28.
