Tópico do WTCC

"The series introduced a raft of changes to the technical regulations for the 2014 season. The cars were still built to Super 2000 regulations, but with significant changes compared to the 2011 generation of cars. The minimum weight of the cars was reduced from 1,150 kilograms (2,540 pounds) to 1,100 kilograms (2,400 pounds), and was accompanied by an increase in the power output of the engine, which rose to 380 bhp, an increase of between 50 and 60 bhp depending on the engine being used. The size of the wheels being used increased to 18", with MacPherson strut suspension being introduced to all cars. The dimensions of the cars changed, with a maximum width of 1,950 mm (77 in), and a 100 mm (3.9 in) front splitter. Changes to the aerodynamic package allowed teams to use flat floors, and introduce single-plane rear wings that were allowed, but to be no higher than the roof of the car."

"(...)The car is based on the new Civic Type R model and the team states that it produces more downforce, less drag and a more effective air flow management compared to the estate used last year.

“This is a car that not just us, but the entire automotive industry has been waiting for. We are as excited as anybody to start running the Civic Type R, which is a massive step forward from last year’s Tourer – from the engine to the handling and aerodynamics,” said Matt Neal.(...)"Em http://www.touringcartimes.com/2015/03/17/honda-yuasa-racing-unveils-new-civic-for-2015-btcc/

"(...)Few drivers are as familiar with the ‘Ring as Schmidt, who grew up at the family hotel within sight of the legendary 170-corner circuit. The driver and TV presenter has previously won the Nürburgring 24-Hours race with the factory Porsche team, and she now runs a high-speed taxi service around the circuit to show visitors how to take the circuit at full speed. Typically Schmidt will complete more than 30,000 laps of the circuit each year.

Schmidt will promote the FIA Women in Motorsport initiative during her appearance in the championship from 15-16 May. She is not the first female to race in the series, however, with the late María de Villota racing in the series in selected outings in 2006 and 2007.(...)

“I will stay realistic with my goals for the races. There are some very good drivers on the grid and even if some of them don’t know the Nordschleife very well, they are the best touring car drivers in the world. But maybe the weather is on my side. I love to drive on the Nordschleife when it’s raining and we get plenty of rain there.”(...)"
[]
