MOTOGP RELEASES EMERGENCY EVACUATION PROCEDURES IN CASE OF AN INCIDENT IN QATAR!
The security situation ahead of the Qatar GP is becoming an increasing concern. MotoGP has reportedly issued emergency evacuation guidelines for all paddock personnel in the event of a dangerous situation.
Here are the 7 safety procedures that must be followed:
• Seek shelter immediately.
Do not approach windows or attempt to record what is happening. Find cover immediately.
• If you are inside a hotel.
Use the stairs to reach the designated safe area. Do not use elevators. If you cannot reach the safe area in time, take shelter inside the building, away from windows and near a solid interior wall.
• If you are at the circuit.
Immediately head to the solid building agreed upon with your team. Avoid tents, open paddock areas, and buildings with glass facades.
• If you are outdoors.
Enter the nearest building. If there is none, drop to the ground and protect your head.
• If you are inside a vehicle.
Stop the vehicle and head to the nearest building. If there is none, move away from the vehicle, drop to the ground, and protect your head.
• Remain under cover.
Do not move for at least 10 minutes or until you receive an official all-clear notification, whichever comes later.
• Once the situation is safe.
Do not touch or photograph any debris. Report it to local emergency services and contact your team to make sure everyone is accounted for.
