The concept is believed to be similar to the Nissan Juke

Kia will reveal a new European Concept at the Frankfurt motorshow in September.
The as-yet unnamed compact crossover, which would rival cars like the Nissan Juke, is claimed to feature a robust and stylish design.
Kia says that the car is a "future B-segment' contender, ready to take on the urban environment with style and tenacity."

It's also claimed that the new concept features 'intriguing elements' that aren't typically associated with smaller cars.
The manufacturer currently has no plans to build production versions of the concept, but it will be used to assess customer response in order to help design future showroom vehicles.

Playful but gutsy, sturdy yet impish – Kia’s dramatic new European concept to be unveiled at the IAA in Frankfurt on 10 September hints at a possible future B-segment contender ready to take on the urban environment with style and tenacity.

Accepting any challenge that the assured modern motorist may throw at it, this concept car combines a mischievous character in a clearly robust and substantial yet stylish bodyshape featuring a mix of contrasting materials in compact, purposeful dimensions.

Born out of Kia’s determination to seek new compact-car options for the individualistic and demanding driver for whom size is an issue, the concept features intriguing elements not always associated with smaller cars and has been created in Europe with European tastes and expectations very much in mind.

Although there are no current plans for production the vehicle’s unveiling in Frankfurt will be used to gauge potential customer response for future showroom models.

O estudo que será apresentado no Salão de Frankfurt aponta para umcrossover do segmento B, sobretudo virado para o mercado europeu.

Depois de um teaser, a marca coreana mostrou de corpo inteiro o Niro, umconcept que será visto em primeira instância em Frankfurt, em setembro. Em causa está um projeto para um crossover do segmento B para “ambientes urbanos”, para rivalizar entre outros com o Nissan Juke. Num pequeno comunicado, a Kia adianta apenas que este estudo, cujo corpo mistura vários materiais contrastantes (incluindo elementos em aço inoxidável), introduzirá elementos que não estão normalmente associados a carros desta dimensão.


O Niro é assinado pelo estúdio da marca coreana em Frankfurt, na Alemanha, sob a supervisão de Gregory Guillaume, o responsável pelo design na Europa, e teve sobretudo em conta os gostos e expetativas dos clientes do “Velho Continente”. A passagem à produção deste concept não está nesta altura em equação, servindo, acima de tudo, para aferir da resposta dos clientes, para ajudar a projetar futuros veículos de produção em série.

Designers at Kia's studio in Frankfurt penned the Niro under the direction of chief designer for Europe Gregory Guillaume. The manufacturer says the Niro has been created 'in Europe with European tastes and expectations very much in mind.'

Não quer dizer que a versão de produção seja assim, mas a verdade é que um dos carros que passou para produção com menores alterações em relação ao concept foi mesmo o Sportage. Um exemplo semelhante foi o Evoque.

Para mim apenas lhe mudava os bancos de forma que fossem mais confortaveis. []

Aquele tablier minimalista e simplificado, mas ao mesmo tempo futurista agrada me bastante.

Kia Niro Concept powers into Frankfurt [video]

With 160 HP 1.6-liter turbo engine

Kia has publicly unveiled the Niro compact crossover concept at IAA in Frankfurt.
Previewing a Nissan Juke competitor, theNiro concept is a compact crossover measuring 4185mm in length, 1850mm in width and 1558mm in height. It has a 2590mm wheelbase and rides on 20-inch five-spoke alloys shod in 225/40 R20 tires. The concept adopts a 2+2 seating layout with a 50:50 split rear bench and a large cargo deck which can carry various items.
Under the hood is a 1.6-liter turbocharged engine delivering 160 HP (118 kW) sent to the front axle via a dual-clutch seven-speed gearbox, while the rear wheels are driven by a 45 HP (33 kW) electric motor powered from regenerative braking.

Open the butterfly doors and you notice a flat-bottomed steering wheel wrapped around in leather and with aluminum inserts. The Niro concept comes with an adjustable pedal box and a super-vision digital instrument binnacle which can be configured to display various data. The touch-sensitive panels enable control of the infotainment and computer functions on the center screen which can also show altitude, compass, sat-nav, Bluetooth and entertainment information.

motor 1.6 de 160cv... meninos! [] e jantes de 20' para quê? na foto espia devem ser praí de 17'. o que detesto mesmo são aqueles faróis traseiros, de resto está muito futurista mesmo. podia aparecer num filme qualquer.
