Acho que a Aston Martin está mesmo a precisar de lançar o sucessor do DB9... Estas 300 versões dos mesmos carros já cansam.

E este Lagonda é daqueles carros que ou se adora ou se odeia. Eu acho feio...
 
Mercedes não tem intenções de adquirir por completo a Aston Martin, segundo o CEO da Daimler

Mercedes-Benz has no plans to increase its stake in Aston Martinat present, according to Daimler chief Dieter Zetsche.The two car companies forged a technical partnership last summer that resulted in Daimler owning five per cent of non-voting shares in Aston Martin.

Speaking at the Paris motor show, Zetsche said the current five per cent stake Mercedes has in Aston is ideal because it “would not be in Aston’s interests to be incorporated into a big corporate organisation, as it would include risk”.

He added: “Aston is only 4000 units a year so there is also a danger we would be distracted from our core business. The deal is a perfect fit for both brands as it allows Aston to remain independent but also benefit from outside technology.
“There are no plans to increase our stake or take over.”

Zetsche also welcomed the arrival of Andy Palmer from Nissan to head Aston. “I regret Andy Palmer leaving Nissan as he was very positive to work with for us, but as he’s left I welcome him to Aston and look forward to future co-operation.”

Aston Martin granted safety exemption, DB9 & Vantage can continue to be sold in U.S.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has granted Aston Martin a temporary exemption which will allow the company to continue to sell the DB9 and Vantage in the United States.

The cars fail to meet new side-impact crash regulations, but the exemption will allow the automaker to continue to sell the DB9 until August 2016 and the Vantage until August 2017. The side-impact crash regulations won't affect the DB9 and Vantage convertibles until September 2015 but the NHTSA has already decided to give them an exemption until August 2017.

In a statement, the NHTSA said "The basis for the grant is that compliance would cause substantial economic hardship to a low volume manufacturer that has tried in good faith to comply with the standard."

Aston Martin Lagonda poderá ser vendido em todo o Mundo

A Aston Martin acabou de apresentar oficialmente a sua berlina de luxo em pleno Dubai, designando-a de Lagonda Taraf. Descrita como sendo a mais bela dos automóveis rápidos, este modelo é baseado na arquitectura VH, inspira-se no clássico Lagonda de 1976, desenhado por William Towns, e será totalmente fabricado à mão nas instalações da Aston Martin, em Gaydon, Warwickshire.

Segundo o discurso de Andy Palmer, CEO da Aston Martin, o Lagonda Taraf poderá ser comercializado em mercados fora do Médio Oriente, como a China, Estados Unidos e Europa. Ainda não existe qualquer tipo de confirmação sobre a motorização escolhida para este modelo, mas espera-se que seja o conhecido 6.0 V12 que equipa o Vanquish, mas com um aumento de potência que possa ascender aos 600cv para o eixo traseiro, graças à ajuda de uma caixa automática de oito velocidades.

Substituto do DB9 e carro do James Bond no próximo filme, Spectre.

EDIT: Pelo que vi do carro parece mais um concept feito apenas para o filme, tal como a Chevrolet fez para os filmes dos Transformers. Mas pode ser que seja um sneak peak para o próximo modelo.
